Automatic Repair is a Windows utility that fixes problems related to starting your computer. It usually runs automatically whenever it detects a startup-related problem on your computer. However, some Windows users complain about an error they are having on their device and claim “Automatic repair failed to fix your PC". If you are having the same problem on your device, don't worry. Follow these simple solutions, they will definitely help you.

A. To try all these solutions, you will need the Windows 10 USB drive. If there is none available near you, you need to create bootable installation media. After creating the bootable installation media for your device, look for these fixes.

B. In these fixes, you need to run some commands in System Symbol in Troubleshooting Mode. Open System Symbol in Troubleshoot mode follow these simple steps:

1. At first, you need to add the installation media you created (or Windows 10 installation DVD) and set your language preferences and click "Next".

2. Now click on "Repair your computer”In the lower left corner of the recovery environment.

3. When the troubleshooter appears, you need to click on "Advanced options".

4. Now, inside the Advanced Options window, click on “Symbol of the system".

5. Now choose the account with administrator privileges.

6. Then you need to enter your account password and click on "Continue".

System symbol window will open in Troubleshoot mode.


Fix-1 Fix boot issues and reconfigure BCD-

1. Open System Symbol in Troubleshoot mode by following the process just discussed and type these commands one by one and press Pay in after each time to run them.


bootrec.exe / rebuildbcd bootrec.exe / fixmbr bootrec.exe / fixboot

2. Digita “Departure“And hit Pay in to complete this process.

3. When executing these commands, if you receive any type of error message, copy paste this command in System Symbol window and knock Pay in.

bootsect /ntfs60 C:

(Important: In the above command, replace "C:" with the drive letter where you installed Windows).

Now try running the commands from step 1 again.

Close System symbol. and try to run Auto Repair on your computer.

Fix-2 Use the Chkdsk utility

1. Again, open System Symbol in Troubleshoot mode and type this command and press Pay in.

chkdsk / f / r C:

(Important: In the above command, replace "C:" with the drive letter where you installed Windows).

This process will take some time as all system files will be checked for damaged files on the Windows installation drive.

Please wait, as this process will take some time to complete.

2. Take up again your computer.

When you start your computer, Automatic Repair will attempt to fix startup-related problems.

If you continue to face any kind of problem, look for the next solution.

Fix-3 Restores Windows image

1. Also, open System Symbol in Troubleshoot mode.

2. Type this command and press Pay in.


DISM / Online / Cleanup Image / RestoreHealth


It will take 20-25 minutes to complete the process.

3. In case you get an error message in the pop-up window above while running, try running one of these commands:

Dism /Image:C:offline /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:c:testmountwindows

Take up again your computer. When you start your computer, Auto Repair will attempt to fix startup related problems.

Fix-4 Use Diskpart to Repair Corrupt Files-

1. Open System Symbol in Troubleshoot mode, type this command and press Pay in.

diskpart

2. Now, type each of these commands and hit Enter after each of them.

list disk select disk 0 list partition select partition 1 active extend filesystem exit

3.Now, type these commands one by one and press Pay in after each time to run them.

bootrec.exe / rebuildbcd bootrec.exe / fixmbr bootrec.exe / fixboot

You can close the Terminal System Symbol.

NOTE: -

a. At the time of running these commands, if you get any kind of error message, copy paste this command in System Symbol window and knock Pay in.

bootsect /ntfs60 C:

(Important: In the above command, replace "C:" with the drive letter where you installed Windows).

B. Now, try running the commands from step 3 again.


Close System symbol. and try to run Auto Repair on your computer.

If automatic repair still can't fix your computer, find the next solution.

Fix-5 Remove Problem File-

1. Again, open the System Symbol. Copy paste these commands in sequence and press Pay in to perform these.


cd C:WindowsSystem32LogFilesSrt SrtTrail.txt

2. After opening the file, you should see this type of line:

Boot critical file c:windowssystem32driversfileinfo.sys

The filename in bold will be the problematic file on your device which is the root cause of the Auto Repair failure. (Es- for our system, it is fileinfo.sys which is causing the problem).

3. Delete the problem file by running these commands (type these commands one by one and press Pay in after each of them) -

cd c:windowssystem32drivers del fileinfo.sys

(In the second command, replace "fileinfo.sysWith the name of the problematic file on your system).

[THEY MATTERT: Don’t delete any other driver except the problematic one]

Take up again your computer. Automatic repair will attempt to repair the startup problem on your computer.

Fix-6 Disable auto-start LOOP repair-

[NOTES– Disable this option only if you are in an Automatic Startup Repair Loop. Otherwise, you can skip this fix.]

1. Once the System Symbol is open, you can type this command or copy and paste it directly.

bcdedit / set {default} recoveryenabled No

2. Now, Take up again your computer and the Auto Repair The cycle must be disabled.

NOTE-

If you want to restart the auto-start repair cycle on your computer, you can do it simply by running this command on the Windows System Symbol of Troubleshooting Mode–

bcdedit /set {default} recoveryenabled Yes

Check if the automatic repair works on your device or not.

Fix-7 Set correct values ​​for device partition-

1. Open System Symbol in Troubleshoot mode and type “bcdedit“And hit Pay in to configure the boot configuration data on the computer.

2. Now, look at the device partition and device partition values ​​of the operating system.

Make sure the values ​​are set correctly for the respective units.

Typically, the device partition and the operating system device partition must be configured on C: (Assuming Windows is installed on your computer's C: drive).

If you see any kind of exception in the above mentioned scenario, type these two commands one by one in the command prompt window and press Pay in for each time to perform them,

bcdedit /set {default} device partition=c: bcdedit /set {default} osdevice partition=c:

Restart computer to save these changes. The automatic repair should be able to fix startup-related issues without further errors.

Fix- 8 Disable Driver Signature Enforcement-

1. Connect the installation media and set your language preferences and click "Next".

2. Then, in the left-most corner of the screen, click on “Repair your computer".

3. Next, you need to click on "Advanced options".

4. Inside the Advanced Options window, click on "Startup Settings".

5. Then click on the option "Take up again".

6. Your device will reboot soon.

7. You will be presented with the options for Startup Settings.

8. Press 7 to "Disable driver signature enforcement".

Problems related to starting the computer should be resolved.

If any of these fixes didn't work, you can reset or update your computer.

Fix-9 Repair or update your computer-

Repairing or updating your computer is the last option available.

1. Click on 'Solve problems"And click"Reset this PC".

2. You now have two options:

a. Update your PC- Updating this PC will ensure the preservation of all personal files.

B. Reset your PC- PC reset will delete all files and completely restore all settings on your computer.

Choose one of these options based on your choice.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

The computer will restart / update and all startup related problems will be resolved.
