How to create a command prompt that opens in a specific folder location: - By default you Symbol of the system always open to position C: Users Dell. Dell is my Windows username. Yours might be different. But if most of your work is concentrated in a specific folder, you may want to do it Symbol of the system to open in that specific position each time it is opened. There is a quick and easy solution to this requirement. Dive into the article to learn how to hack this simple trick.



Method 1: use Shift + right click

STEP 1 - Press and hold the Modify and right click on the folder you want Symbol of the system to open.

  • Now from the context menu that appears, click on Open the command window here.

Method 2: create your own custom command prompt

STEP 1 - Right-click anywhere in an empty space on the Windows desktop. In the context menu that appears, click New option and then off Shortcut option.

STEP 2 - A new window called Create a shortcut opens. You will see a text box to enter the position of the item. Copy and paste the following location into that text box as following screenshot shown. When finished, press the button The next button.

STEP 3 - On the next page, you can name the shortcut. It can be anything. I gave my shortcut name as custom CMD Merabheja. This will create a link to CMD Merabheja customized on the desktop when creating the shortcut from the desktop.


STEP 4 - Then right click on the newly created link. In the context menu that appears, find and click Property option.

STEP 5 - il Property the new connection window opens. By default, the Shortcut the tab will be selected. Under the Shortcut tab, you can find a text area to insert Start in Position. This is where you need to enter the folder location where your custom CMD should open. Since I want my CMD to always open in my Desktop folder, I gave the Start in location like C: Users Dell Desktop . My Windows username is Dell. You have to give your Windows username instead of mine. When everything is ready, press the button ok button.


STEP 6 - You can now go back to the location where you saved your custom CMD and double-click on it to launch it. You can see that the CMD has been opened in the position you wanted it to open.
