While Microsoft has come a long way with its tech updates from time to time, there are some things that can be really annoying. One of these is the “low disk space” warning which warns you when your hard drive is nearly full or running out of space. While this can be useful for many who don't keep track of their disk space, the continuous reminder can be frustrating over a period of time.

The balloon notification with the disk space warning is scheduled for a specific duration for each version of Windows. For Windows 10, it's set to appear every ten minutes with the notification visible for ten seconds. The pop-up can display any of the following alerts at three different levels:

  • You're running out of disk space
  • You have very little disk space
  • You have run out of disk space

Let's see how to get rid of this “low disk space” warning in Windows 10.

How to disable the Windows 10 "low disk space" warning

Step 1: press the Tasto Windows + R together on the keyboard to open the file run box. gender Regedit in the search box to open the file Registry Editor.

Step 2: A Registry Editor window, go to the following path:

HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersion

Step 3: Now go to Current version folder on the left, expand it, scroll down to find the key called Policies. Expand to see if there is a named subkey Explorer under it. If yes, right click on the empty pane on the right> New > Valore DWOD (32 bit).

Step 4: Name the new value NoLowDiskSpaceChecks and hit Log in.

Step 5: Double-click on it to open a pop-up window. Change the Valuable data field of 0 to 1. Press ok to save the changes. The low disk space warning will disappear.

However, if there is no Explorer subkey under the Criteria key on the left (under Current Version), you can create the subkey, Explorer. Follow the steps below:

Step 1: Right click on Policies, To select Newclick your Key and it will create a new subkey field called New key no. 1.

Step 2: Name the subkey field Explorer and hit Log in. Now follow the above steps from 3 pass.
