Windows 10 is undoubtedly one of the most preferred operating systems in the world due to its large number of features and continuous improvements. But it can also get quite annoying at times, with delays due to sudden updates or errors. One of these errors is "File not found. Please check the file name and try again".

This error appears every time you try to open a file on your Windows 10 device. This can be really frustrating when you're in the middle of an important job. This is a common mistake and has been reported by many users. Fortunately, there is a workaround for this error.

Let's see how to solve this problem.

Solution: via Windows security settings

Step 1: Click on Home on the desktop and select settings in the context menu, located above the file energia option.

Step 2: A settings window, click Update and security.

Step 3: In the next window, click Windows Security on the left. Now, on the right side of the panel, under the Protection areas section, click Virus and threat protection.

Step 4: In the next window that appears, click Manage your settings down Virus and threat protection settings.

Step 5: In the next window that opens, scroll down to go to Controlled access to folders section. Under this, click Manage controlled access to the folder.

Step 6: A Protection against ransomware window, turn off the switch on Controlled access to folders.

That's it, and you should now be able to easily access all the files on your system.
