Windows 10 includes many new features. Of course, it is very different from previous versions of the Windows operating system. But Windows 10 also looks a lot like its predecessors. Like Windows XP, Windows 7 and Windows 8 / 8.1, Windows 10 also has a number of bugs and errors.

The latest Windows 10 error that is leaving users scratching their heads is “Repair disk errors. This may take over an hour to complete.". This is a very annoying error and appears on the main screen. Sometimes the computer will start working after an hour, but the error will most likely reappear. And most of the time you don't even let Windows take you to the login screen.

The error says it is fixing disk errors and even after hours of waiting nothing happens. If you are also one of the Windows 10 users who is stuck with this error, you are on the correct page. We will help you solve this problem using our methods.

This error causes the computer to hang on the startup screen. As mentioned, it will sometimes allow you to use your computer. Therefore, some methods require you to log into your computer, while others can be done without logging in. Here are all the details to perform the methods. Follow the steps to perform the methods.

1. Using Startup Repair

In this method, we will try to fix this error using Startup Repair. To perform this method, you will need a Windows installation media. If you don't have it, you can create bootable Windows installation media.

If you can't log in, create the Windows installation media with another Windows 10 computer. Make sure you insert the correct version of Windows 10 installed on your computer (the one with the disk error) when creating. When you are ready with the USB disk / drive, follow the steps.

Step 1. Connect the USB flash drive of the Windows installation media to the computer.

Step 2. Turn on your computer by pressing the power button and start pressing the F12 key (boot menu option).

Step 3. When you see the boot menu, use the arrow keys to select Name of the bootable USB drive o Removable devices (whatever is on the screen) or CD-ROM reader and press Log in.

4 Phase. You will then see the Windows installation screen. Here, select your language and click The next.

Step 5. To go Repair your computer.

Step 6. Please select Solve problems in Choose an option screen.

Step 7. To go Advanced options in Solve problems screen.

Step 8. Click on Initial repair in Advanced options screen.

Now, wait for the repair process to complete. When the process is complete, restart your computer. You will never see the error again. If it still bothers you, follow the next method.

2. Repair disk errors using the Check Disk command

In this method, we will try to fix the problem using the file chkdsk I send. This command repairs bad sectors and the logical file system, which may be causing the disk to fail.

Final report: To perform this method, you need to log into your computer. Therefore, if you are unable to log into your computer, you will need to start in safe mode. To boot in safe mode, you can use method 6 of How to start Windows 10 in safe mode.

After logging into your computer, follow the steps.

Step 1. Go to Cortana and type Command Prompt. Right click on Symbol of the system give the results and select Run as administrator.

Step 2. Now in the command prompt window, you need to enter the following command and press Log in.

Chkdsk C: / f / r / x

Final report: here "C" in the command is the drive partition where Windows 10 is installed. If it is installed on another drive on your computer, it uses the alphabet assigned to that drive.

Step 3. When asked if you want to run the command before the next boot, type Y and press Log in.

4 Phase. Restart your computer.

When your computer restarts, it will scan and fix disk errors. You can now log in without errors. If this method didn't work, follow the next one.

Step 1. Connect the USB flash drive of the Windows installation media to the computer.

Step 2. Turn on your computer by pressing the power button and start pressing the F12 key (boot menu option) to enter the boot menu.
