Microsoft's new Windows 10 is a new and improved version of its designers' long-lasting operating system, which is well suited as a complete package based on initial consumer reports.

Microsoft has introduced small and subtle but numerous changes to the operating system with its Windows 10.

One of these subtle new changes was the ability for apps to send notifications to users which could be visible in the Start Menu, Action Center, or even with a banner just above the taskbar in the lower right corner.

Why would you need notifications in Windows?

With older versions of Windows, many users are used to keeping windows clean and intrusion-free, so notifications are sure to receive some criticism, but are sometimes too useful to ignore. For example, if you are tracking a certain activity through an application on Windows 10, if the application has the ability to send notifications, you will continue to receive regular notifications with regular activity updates as you continue with your work normally.

You won't need to open your browser over and over to check your mail. If you have set up your email, you will be notified as soon as you receive a new email, as long as you are connected to a network.

So having notifications with your new Windows 10 can be useful and very useful.

On the other hand, as the reputation of notifications progresses, it is likely to annoy you and find an app or two intrusive with notifications, or you may just want to turn on notifications all at once, Windows 10 lets you do that.

Here's how you do it

How do I disable / hide notifications in Windows 10?

1- Click on the start menu.

2- Select the configuration and open the configuration window.

3- Once the window is open, select System.

4- Once you have selected System, in the left pane, look for Notifications and actions.

5- Under the heading Notifications, activate the option that says -App notifications.

This will disable all Windows app notifications.

Note that this is applicable if the Show App Notifications feature is enabled, so you can choose to disable apps individually based on your needs. But if the Show app notifications feature is off, it doesn't matter if you turn this setting on or off.

To disable notifications for individual apps, you will need to disable them individually.

To explain the procedure more easily and to make it easier, let's take the example of the Mail application.

Each app also offers the ability to silence notifications and you can also turn them off so they don't open the app.

For example, mail application.

1- Open the mail application.

2- In the lower left corner, Select configuration.

3- In the configuration menu now visible, select Options.

4- Start scrolling down until you see the Notifications header.

5- Toggle the option that says -show in Action Center to disable notifications for that particular app.

You have now turned off notifications for the mail app.

Note: Under the -Show in Action Center option, there are options to disable sound announcements and notifications. If you are bothered by a particular aspect of the notification, you can also try disabling it.
