  • Extend the Start menu and click Application Settings to open the window settings file.


  • Now from the window that opens, click on the icon labeled System to open a new window for System settings.


  • From the left pane of the new window, click on the eighth option from the top, which is Retention. In the right window pane, you will see the storage drives hosted by your system. To delete temporary files from the This PC drive, click on them.


  • A new window opens for the selected drive, showing memory usage.


  • Scroll down to the bottom of the window to find Temporary Files and click on it.


  • The window for Temporary Files opens. Here you can see the storage area occupied by the temporary files. Tap Delete temporary files to free this storage area. If Trash is occupying an area, you can also clear it by tapping the Empty Trash as shown in the image.


  • Now, if you want to wipe the temp files on drive D or any other drive in that matter, you just need to open the required drive memory usage window as before.


  • Just scroll down and find the Temporary Files file and then delete the temporary files, if any.
