A local area network (LAN) consists of many computers served by a single Internet Service Provider (ISP) in limited geographic areas such as schools, universities, or offices. Once your computer is connected to this network, you will be provided with all the services to transfer and receive data, to and from the network. The current generation may call this LAN by the name of Ethernet. Now suppose you need to know which computers are connected to your network. This article guides you perfectly to do that. Well, before that, you need to know how your computer is addressed on the network.

Whenever you get a connection from your ISP, you will be given an IP address by which others can uniquely identify you.

An IP address is a 32-bit quantity that is uniquely assigned to each device, be it a computer or peripherals, connected to the network, for easy identification in a group of systems.

These IP addresses will let others know about you, and once you have given other computers on your network permission to share your files, the network can be shared. By default, to maintain system stability and protect data from the eye of the attacker, the network cannot be shared. Now, let's go through the list of computers connected to your network.
