Your computer's hard drive is where all the system data processed by the CPU is stored. Although the hard drive is an important component of any computer, it is generally slow. The slowest are the older and cheaper version of hard drives, called HDD (hard drive).

Although hard drives may be faster depending on the type in use, many users prefer to use the latest hard drives or SSDs (solid state drives) for faster performance. So, if your PC performance is slow and you want to know what kind of hard drive you have, there is an easy way to find out. This will help you decide whether to upgrade to a faster drive. Let's see how to find out.

How to check if your PC has a hard drive or SSD

Step 1: Click on Home at your desk, type defragment in the search box and click the result.

Step 2: A Optimize units , check the hard drive type in the file Media type column. If your OS has a hard drive, it will be mentioned HDDand if it works on SSD, it will be mentioned Solid state drive.

Here, in our case, it shows HDD.

Once the check is complete, close the window and that's it. This is how you check if your Windows 10 PC has a hard drive or SSD.
