How to see more tips in Chrome's address bar.
As you start typing in Chrome's address bar, suggestions appear that match what you've typed so far. These suggestions are extracted from your browsing history and bookmarks. By default, only 4 - 6 matches are displayed which may not be enough. Here's how you can increase the number of suggestions in Omnibar in Chrome.
Tips in Chrome's address bar
You can view up to 12 suggested articles in Chrome's address bar, aka Omnibar. This will include suggestions from the bookmark library and history. You can also completely disable hints in the Omnibar.
Paste the following into the address bar in Chrome and tap Enter.
chrome://flags/#omnibox-ui-max-autocomplete-matches
Open the drop-down menu next to this indicator and choose how many recommended items you want to show in Chrome's address bar. If you want to disable hints altogether, select the Disable option. You can get 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 matches for anything you type in the address bar. After selecting an option from the drop-down menu, restart Chrome.
The next time you type in the address bar, you'll see a longer list of suggestions pulled from your browsing history and bookmark library.
If you want to disable suggestions from the bookmark library and only get suggestions from your browsing history, you need to disable the “Use a prediction service to complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar” option in the Chrome settings. It's in Chrome Settings> Show Advanced Settings> Privacy.
If you want to disable browsing history suggestions, you will need to delete the history. The only alternative is to disable suggestions in Chrome's address bar. You can't limit the address bar to only show suggestions from the bookmark library and omit matches from your browsing history.
