If you had been a fan of the Windows 7 version, you probably would have noticed the loss of the Start menu in the Windows 8 version. To help you, Microsoft had released Windows 10 in which it revealed the Start menu with the Windows icon at the bottom of the screen. And yes, this new version hasn't disappointed all Windows 8 fans either. It also includes applications that can be seen as a series of tiles in the Start menu. Instead of viewing directly from Home, you can swipe apps left and right by putting the screen in tablet mode from the notification area. Action center and puts the screen in a different mode.

How else can you find the app list on your Windows 10 system? Let me tell you.

  • Open the Start menu from the bottom and choose the Applications option.

  • You will find the applications sorted according to their initial letters.

  • When you click on it, you will find a series of letters and numbers on the left of the screen. Click on one of the letters to open all apps starting with that letter.

This is only useful if you know the name of the application you are looking for. But obviously those who are so used to Windows 7 would not feel so attractive. There, you get all the apps arranged in a specific order, so you don't need to remember their names. To help you, the complete list of applications can be easily viewed from File Explorer. Follow the steps provided below in your order and find out how it can be done.

Open the run Window on your system by pressing Windows key + R.

Once opened, you will need to type the following command in the text box and hit the OK button.

shell: applications folder

You will now find all applications, sorted by name, on your system as shown below.

Here you will find all types of files such as applications, folders, shortcuts, browsers and media.

Now to open directly from this PC, type the path shell: applications folder in the address field and press Enter.
