Windows provides some predefined toolbars that can be accessed through the Windows taskbar. One such toolbar is the Address Toolbar. The address toolbar provides direct access to a website from the Windows taskbar. The address toolbar uses the default web browser to access websites.

In this article, we will follow some steps on How to view and use the address toolbar in Windows 10:

Step 1:

Right-click on the Windows taskbar. Go to "Toolbars" and click on the "Address" toolbar.

The Windows taskbar will now appear in the address toolbar.

Step 2:

If you want to change the size of the toolbar, you need to uncheck if the Windows taskbar is locked.

If the taskbar is pinned, you can remove it by right-clicking on the Windows taskbar and clicking “Lock Taskbar”.

Then, the Windows taskbar will be unlocked.

Step 3:

You can now drag the address toolbar onto pinned icons on the Windows taskbar to make it appear larger.

You can also use the "View" button and the "Refresh" button on the address toolbar to "show the history of websites accessed via the default web browser" and "refresh the current website in the web browser" , respectively.

Step 4:

To access a website via the address toolbar, enter the URL (Uniform Resource Locator) of a particular website and press the “Enter” key.

For example, let's enter the Facebook URL, that is, www.facebook.com.

The website will now open via the default web browser specified by the user.

For example, "Edge" is currently the default web browser on our system. Therefore, the website will open via the Edge web browser.
