Windows 10 by default does not show hidden files. The reason is that there are some important system files that Microsoft doesn't want you to delete and that they have kept hidden. But hidden files also serve other purposes in someone's life. Sometimes you don't want everyone else to see some files, so keep them hidden. But you know how to view hidden files in Windows 10. These are the best ways you can view hidden files in Windows 10.

Method 1: View Windows 10 hidden files using File Explorer

To view hidden files in Windows 10, first go to File Explorer by clicking My computer on the desktop or by clicking start button and then clicking Browser on file.

Once you get there, click on the View tab at the top as shown below. A new set of menus will appear. In this one look show hidden items as shown in the screenshot below.

To view hidden files on Windows 10 PC, press Windows key + x to open the menu and click control panel In that.

Once you are in the control panel window, click on Appearance and personalization.

Then click File Explorer Options on the next screen.

From the file explorer system options window that just appeared, select the radio button that says Show hidden files and folders As shown below.

3rd method: view Windows 10 hidden files via registry key

Now in the registry editor find the following location mentioned below.

    • Explorer
    • Advanced

Once you get there, find Hidden away On the right side. Set your value to 1. This method is only recommended if you want to always show the hidden file on your PC and don't want the show / hide file setting to be changed every time.
