There has been a long history of the different types of processors that have been in use since 1971. Intel was the first company to introduce microprocessors that included support for 2.300 transistors and performed 60.000 operations in one second. Subsequently, the alteration of the processors took place at regular time intervals. Some discoveries have led to major changes in the work performance and efficiency of processors. In 1993, Intel developed a new generation of processors, known as the Pentium processor. The Pentium processor was made up of over 3 million transistors up to speeds of 60 MHz. Nowadays, processors with speeds above 4 GHz are being developed.

In the case of RAM, the first RAM sold was manufactured by Intel in 1970. It had the capacity to store 1KB or 1024 bytes of memory and classified as Dynamic Random Access Memory or DRAM. In the same year SRAM or static RAM was also invented. RAMs (i.e. SRAM and DRAM) lose memory when turned off because they are volatile in nature. Today, DDR4 RAM is very popular and is available in the 2GB, 4GB and 8GB categories respectively.
