When you start Windows 10, you must have noticed that there are some applications that start automatically. While this can be useful for applications you use regularly, some applications may not be needed. One such application is Skype, which by default starts automatically when your computer starts.
It starts by default on startup and then you can log into your Skype account. Why did it happen? Because it instantly alerts you to any missed calls or messages that arrived when the system was shut down. However, not everyone may need it this way. Stop Skype from auto-starting via task manager
1. Press CTRL + Shift + Esc together from the keyboard to open the task manager.
2. Click start Tongue.
3. Right-click on skype from the list and choose deactivate.
Prevent Skype from starting automatically in Windows 10 via the Settings app
Step 1: Right-click on windows iconHome) on the desktop and click settings in the context menu.
Step 2: A settings window, click Privacy.
Step 3: A Privacy screen, on the left side of the panel, scroll down until you find the file Application permissions section. In this section, click App in background. On the right side of the panel, scroll down until you find Skype. Here, turn off the switch next to Skype.
Now restart your computer and Skype will no longer start automatically.
