Device Administrator is a utility for managing all your devices on your computer from one place. In case you cannot access the Device Administrator on your computer as it is locked by an administrator, follow these simple steps and you will be back to using Device Manager.

But before proceeding to the main solution, we highly recommend that you create a restore point for your system. In case something goes wrong, you can easily restore your computer to the same point. Solution 1: Enable the hidden administrator account

Try enabling the hidden administrator account in Windows 10.

1. close cmd in the Windows 10 search box.

2. Right-click and click run as administrator.

3. Copy and paste the following command and press the Enter key to execute it.

net user administrator / active: yes

After that, try again.

Fix-2 Open Device Manager from System Properties-

Try opening Device Administrator from System Properties.

1. Press Tasto Windows + R have lunch Running window on your computer.

2. Now, copy paste or write "sysdm.cpl“And then press Pay.

3 inch System Properties window, go to "Hardware“tab.

4. Then click on "Device administrator”In the Device Administrator section.

Check if you can access the Device Manager window on your computer.

Fix-3 Accessing Device Manager from Computer Management-

You could enter Device Administrator from the IT Management window.



1. Press Windows key + E together to open the File Navigator window.

2. In the File Browser window, on the left side, right click on "What PC"And then click"riding school".

IT Management window will open.

3. In the IT Management window, on the left side, click "Device administrator".

Now, on the right side, you will be able to see all the devices on your computer.


This way you can access Device Administrator from the IT Management utility.

Fix-4 Open Device Manager as Administrator.

If nothing works for you, try opening Device Administrator as Clamshell Stem Administrator-

1. Press Windows key + X and then click "Windows Powershell (administrator)".


Power of the shell will open the window.

2 inch Power of the window shell, copy paste this order and blow Pay in to run them one by one to get administrative access and use that access to open Device Administrator.

net user administrator / active: yes

devmgmt.msc

Device Administrator window will open.

You will be able to use Device Administrator.

Fix 5 - Roll back updates

Open Command Prompt as Administrator. Now, run the following commands one by one.

net stop wuauserv net stop cryptSvc net stop bits net stop msiserver ren C:WindowsSoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.older ren C:WindowsSystem32catroot2 Catroot2.older net start wuauserv net start cryptSvc net start bits net start msiserver

Close the Command Prompt window and try again.
