Whenever you open a shop page in your browser, the Windows shop will appear in front of you. Most users find it annoying. Here is a quick fix to get rid of the automatic Windows Store popup on Windows application pages in Chrome and Mozilla browsers.

How to stop the automatic popup from the Windows store in Chrome

Step 1 : - Close all Chrome browsers running on your PC.


Step 2: - Open Windows Explorer by opening This PC and navigating to the following location listed below


% userprofile% AppData Local Google Chrome User Data

Step 3: - Now open the file called Local State in a notepad editor.

Step 4: - Now, find the following text in the file as given below.

ms-windows-store

Step 5: - Now, change the value of false to true.

Step 6: - Save the file and open Chrome again. Windows Store will no longer produce annoying pop-ups in front of you when browsing Chrome.

How to stop the automatic Windows Store pop-up in Mozilla

Step 1 : - Open Mozilla and type about:config in the address bar



Step 2: - Now click I'll be careful, I promise

3 pass: - Now, find the next line shown below.

network.protocol-handler.external.ms-windows-store

4 phase: - Now, double click on it to set it to fake

You are ready.

Final report: - To restore it again, set it to true.
