Copying and pasting files or folders from one drive to another is the easiest and error-free process in Windows 10. But after getting these important Windows 10 updates on their computer, users encounter a particular problem related to transferring files / folders on your computer. When they try to copy and paste files or folders from one drive to another, they get stuck with an error message saying "Unable to copy file or folder: unspecified error.“This error usually occurs when a set of .dll files is not registered on the computer. If you eventually run into the same kind of problem, don't worry. There are fixes available, if you follow them you can easily fix this problem. But before proceeding with the solutions, you should try these solutions initially to try some simpler solutions for your problem.

Alternative solutions

1. Try copying and pasting another file or file type. If you can transfer this file without any problems, there are some problems with the old file. If not, if the same type of problem occurs again, there are some software problems causing this problem.

2. If you are experiencing this problem for the first time on your computer, a simple one start again can solve the problem for you. After reboot, try to copy and paste files or folders and check if the same error occurs again or not.

3. Temporarily disable the antivirus on your computer. After disabling it, try to transfer the files again. Check if you get the same error again or not.

If any of these solutions didn't work for you, look for these solutions:

Compressing a particular file or folder will greatly reduce the file size. Compress the problematic file or folder and then try to transfer it.

1. The right mouse button on the problem file / folder, click "Send to"And then click"Compressed (zipped) folder".

2. Now try copy paste this compressed file / folder instead of the original file / folder. Check if you are having the same problem again or not.

Advice-

However, if the problem continues to bother you, here are some additional tips to help you:

1. Try transferring files / folders to your computer with another user / administrator account.
