Some Windows 10 users complain of a problem they face every time they try to open Windows Defender on your computer. Whenever they try to open Windows Defender in their respective systems, Windows Defender doesn't open and instead I get an error message that says "This app is disabled by Group Policy". Follow these two solutions and the problem will be solved in no time.

Fix-1 Group Policy Change-

Disabling "Disable Windows Defender Antivirus”Starting in the Local Group Policy Editor should fix this problem.



1. Press Tasto Windows + R have lunch Running window on your computer.

2. Type this command in the Run window and then press Pay in.

gpedit.msc

Local Group Policy Editor window will open.

3. When the Local Group Policy Editor opens, expand the left side like this-

Computer Configuration> Administrative Templates> Windows Components> Windows Defender Antivirus

4. On the right side of the Local Group Policy Editor window, scroll down.

5. Hence, double click over it "Disable Windows Defender Antivirus".

6. In the Disable Windows Defender Antivirus window, click “Disabled“To disable policy settings.

7. Once all this is done, click on "Request"Y"all right”To save the changes on your computer.

After restarting your computer, try opening Windows Defender back to your computer. Look for the next solution if the problem persists.

Fix-2 Edit Registry Editor

Removing 'Disable AntiSpyware' Registry Editor key might work for you.



NOTE: -

Before moving on to the main solution, we highly recommend that you create a registry backup on your computer. After opening the Registry Editor, click on "Fillet">"Export”To create the backup.


If something goes wrong, you can recover the log by simply importing the backup.

1. Press Tasto Windows + R have lunch Running window on your computer.

2. When the Run window opens, type "regedit"There, then click"all right“To open the Registry Editor window.

Computer HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SOFTWARE Policies Microsoft Windows Defender

4. On the right side of the Registry Editor window, you will notice the "Disable AntiSpyware" key.

5. Right-click on "Disable AntiSpyware"And then click"To delete”To remove the key from your computer.

6. Click on 'Yup”To confirm the deletion process.

Once the key is deleted, close the Registry Editor window.

Restart the system to save the changes.

After restarting your computer, try opening Windows Defender on your computer. It should open without further problems.
